Why Nutrition?
Most occupations do not exist by themselves, rather they interact with other social systems. This is true when it comes to esthetics. We are now assuming a more health-oriented role.
Every 7.7 seconds someone turns 50. It is the burgeoning aging population that has become a real force behind economic, social and political trends. As the baby boomers age, they are becoming more and more concerned about their health and physical appearance.
A growing trend in the food industry indicates that consumers, especially affluent aging baby boomers are demanding food that promotes health and wellness.
Although many skin care centers incorporate wellness centers with yoga and Pilates studios, my focus will be to bring the “basics of nutrition” to you. We can all benefit from the latest information concerning this area.
In this new column, we will be talking about how we can use nutrition as a preventive approach for aging and health care.
How our skin looks has much to do with what we put into our bodies. If we’re going to take better care of our faces, shouldn’t we also be just as concerned about our overall health?
